To Anna Tshuchlebova

Hello, you'll probably remember me from our short meeting in Antwerp, in Eric Joris' studio. I discussed with you this project I'm doing about this military base near Potsdam, Krampnitz.
As for now I have set up a short file of the outset, ideas and estimated budget for realisation of this project. Of this I send you a copy.
In this report you will also find names of four archives that have been mentioned to me as possibly interesting to find documentation. Maybe you could check if these indeed are the right places, and if not, let me know what would be a better choice or target. You will see in my budget that I applied for two trips to Moscow or other for about a week to spend time in these archives. If possible you could give me a bit of introduction before, how and where to look for, and also if I'll need translators and so on. For now I have applied in English to these archives, and I'll see what happens.
Also I remember you talked about certain litterature that included stories from cams, and the tradition of folk-music. If you have any leads for these, please let me know.
As soon as I have knowledge of a specific archive where I could go for information I want to book a flight since time is running fast and I should definitely make sure of a starting point. During the month of july I will also go back to Krampnitz to find out more on the spot. I'll try to find out more about graffitti's and history of the camp itself. If you'd know about specific details I should look for, again, please let me know.
As for the project by Eric Joris, I don't know of any evolutions in the process, my initial interest there remains to visit multiple murderers in St. Petersburg prison, and/or detectives who are in charge of related investigations.
Down here we're of course only informed by your infamous Red Ripper, Andrej Tschikatilo, and little bit less about Vladimir Storozhenko, arrested by the same police-officer, Issa Kostoev, back in 1981. Also a quite good book was written by Mikha‹l Krivitch & Olgert Olgin, so maybe any of these could be traced and gotten in touch with.
That's about it for now, I'll keep you informed whenever something new comes to surface, in the meantime, please also keep me informed if you find out something.
Thanks, all the best,
